2017 Classics on the River Banquet

On September 30th, the Section held its annual car show banquet at the Petroleum Club in downtown Oklahoma City.  Honored guests included Todd Bondy, Principal Owner, Mercedes-Benz of Oklahoma City, MBCA National President Terry Kiwala, Regional Director Gene Jurick, and two Members of Sunbeam Family Services’ Young Professionals Board.  Thirty-four Club members were in attendance, including six members of the Eastern Oklahoma Section. 

Following the dinner, Section President Charles Woods presented awards to the car show winners:

The Section then conducted an auction, beginning with an original Mercedes SL print obtained at Amelia Island.  MBOKC donated two ladies’ Mercedes-Benz watches which brought in $750.  During his remarks, Todd Bondy announced that MBOKC was donating $5,000 to Sunbeam and would match Club members’ donations on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to $10,000.  After the banquet, Todd said, “We were thrilled to support the event and help raise over $16,000 for a great cause.  Thank you all for your support for the event and your participation in the Club.”

Charles introduced MBCA’s National President Terry Kiwala, who expressed his appreciation of the efforts of the Central Oklahoma Section.  Terry has attended five Central Oklahoma Section functions (car shows, picnic, and Christmas dinners).  He also complimented the Section Officers for their leadership.
